1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how GeoTago (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). We designed GeoTago to keep your media on your device whenever possible.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Access

Depending on the features you use and the permissions you grant, the App may access:

• Camera — to capture photos and videos.
• Microphone — to record audio with videos (optional; can be disabled in settings).
• Location (when in use) — to add geotags, addresses, maps, and related stamps to your media.
• Photos / media library — to save captures to your gallery and to import photos or videos when you choose.
• Notifications — if you allow them, for optional updates related to app activity.
• Device sensors — such as compass / orientation data used for stamps and framing.

You can revoke permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features may not work without the related permission.

3. How We Use Information

We use accessed information only to provide App features, including:

• Capturing, previewing, editing, and saving geotagged photos and videos
• Showing live overlays (location, time, weather, compass, and templates)
• Improving app stability and understanding general usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information. We do not automatically upload your photos, videos, or precise location history to our servers for storage or marketing.

4. Data Storage

Captured photos, videos, thumbnails, templates preferences, and most settings are stored locally on your device (for example in the App’s private storage and/or your photo gallery when you save).

If you uninstall the App, locally stored App data may be removed according to your device’s OS behavior. Media you saved to your gallery usually remains unless you delete it yourself.

5. Third-Party Services

The App may use third-party services to operate certain features:

• Weather data — approximate location may be sent to a weather provider (for example OpenWeatherMap) to display weather on stamps.
• Maps / geocoding — location coordinates may be converted to address text using device or third-party geocoding services.
• Firebase (Analytics / Crashlytics) — may collect anonymized or pseudonymized diagnostics and usage events to help us fix crashes and improve the App. These services process data under Google’s / Firebase policies.
• App stores — Google Play or Apple App Store handle downloads, ratings, and purchases under their own policies.

Third parties process data under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

6. Sharing

When you use Share, Rate, Feedback, or similar actions, content is handled by your device’s share sheet, app store, or email app. We only receive feedback if you choose to send it to us (for example by email).

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

8. Data Retention & Your Choices

• Revoke camera, microphone, location, photos, or notification access in system settings.
• Delete media from the in-app gallery or your device photo library.
• Clear app data / uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data.
• Contact us to ask questions about this policy or your privacy.

9. International Users

If you use the App from outside the country where our services or third-party providers operate, your information may be processed in other regions as needed to provide the App (for example weather or analytics providers).

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
