Scan.It is designed with privacy at its core:
Local Processing: Document scanning, edge detection, perspective cropping, OCR text recognition, PDF creation, password encryption, and digital signatures are processed entirely on your mobile device.
No Cloud Document Storage: Your scanned documents, extracted text, and signatures are stored locally on your device storage. We do not transfer or host your documents on any third-party cloud servers.
3. Information We Collect
While your documents remain strictly private on your device, we use standard analytics services to maintain and improve application performance:
Anonymous Usage Data (Firebase Analytics): We collect aggregated, non-personally identifiable information such as app feature usage frequency, screen navigation, and operational performance to understand how users interact with the app.
Crash Logs (Firebase Crashlytics): In the event of an application crash, diagnostic crash logs and stack traces are collected to help us identify and resolve bugs quickly.
4. Device Permissions
Scan.It requests specific device permissions strictly to deliver core functionalities:
Camera Permission: Required to capture images of physical documents for scanning.
Storage / Media Permission: Required to save scanned PDFs/images to your device gallery or file system, and to import existing documents.
Biometric Hardware (Optional): Used locally via Android BiometricPrompt for the App Lock feature. Biometric data never leaves your device's secure hardware.

We prioritize the security of your data. Because all document operations occur locally on your device, your data security primarily relies on your device's operating system security. You can also enable the built-in App Lock feature within Scan.It to safeguard access using biometric or device credentials.

Scan.It does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13. The app is a general utility for document management.
